Who is Daniel Sauls?

Multi-instrumentalist/producer Daniel Sauls found his place in the Nashville scene by recognizing a consistent need for artists; a need for someone with an eclectic musical perspective and the know-how to apply it, either in concert or in the studio.

Daniel is the DJ and Playback Engineer for 2x Grammy Award-winning artist Lauren Daigle. He is tasked with taking string arrangements, percussion parts, and anything in between from her platinum-selling record “Look Up Child” and performing them live via audio sampling application Ableton and various musical controllers. He has supported her on television performances like The Ellen Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and Good Morning America. He also made history by being the first to use a sampler in the illustrious Carnegie Hall.

Around Nashville, Daniel is the DJ for instrumental hip-hop supergroup Fooly Magooly (aka FM). He also is the drummer and background vocalist for indie-rockers MYSAH (formerly Company of Others). On some days, you can find him in various roles, supporting local jazz/soul artists Alayna Renae, Cassidy Gephart, and Chancey.

Outside of the live performance idiom, Daniel spends most of his time and energy in the studio. He performed drum and string programming for Lauren Daigle’s cover of Crowded House's “Don’t Dream It’s Over", available on Spotify. One of his compositions, played by FM, is sampled on neo-soul powerhouses Moonchild’s newest record, Little Ghost. Whenever he can, he‘ll make time to work on his own productions, moving seamlessly between hip-hop, electronica, and indie rock. Being an Ableton controllerist, drummer, producer, bassist, keyboardist, guitarist, and vocalist is a daunting task for Daniel Sauls to juggle. Through his love of music and a lot of patience, he’s able to lend his talents and provide a unique experience to any artist that needs it.
